Privacy policy

Adapteats helps you adapt recipes to fit your dietary profile. To do that we process information about your allergies, intolerances, and food preferences. This page explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have.

What we collect

  • Account data: email address, authentication identifiers (Apple / Google sub IDs).
  • Dietary profile: allergies (with severity), intolerances, lifestyle diets, dislikes, equipment, cooking time, household size.
  • Recipes you import and the adapted versions we generate for you.
  • Subscription state from RevenueCat (active / expired / grace period).
  • Crash reports (Sentry) and minimal server logs needed to operate the service.

Allergy data is health data

Under the GDPR (Article 9), allergy and intolerance information counts as special-category health data. We process it on the basis of your explicit consent given at onboarding. It is encrypted at rest, access is restricted to operations that require it, and you can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Where your data lives

Adapteats is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt or Amsterdam region). Recipe images are stored on Cloudflare R2 in the EU. Transactional email is sent via Mailjet (EU).

Third-party processors

  • OpenAI — receives recipe text and a canonical signature of your dietary constraints so it can produce the adapted recipe. We have a Data Processing Addendum in place and the API is configured for zero training-data retention.
  • RevenueCat — handles subscription state. Receives a RevenueCat user ID, never your email or PII.
  • Apple / Google — Merchant of Record for purchases.
  • Cloudflare R2 (EU) — recipe image storage.
  • Mailjet (EU) — transactional email.
  • Sentry (EU) — crash reports with user ID only, no PII in breadcrumbs.

Your rights

You can export your full data, correct inaccuracies, or permanently delete your account from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). Deletion cascades through all our systems and through RevenueCat. We do not sell data, ever. We do not run advertising SDKs.
